Hospital Longgang

The partnership between the University Hospital Regensburg and the Hospital Longgang in Shenzhen (China) forms the basis for an intensive exchange in science and further medical training: Every year, physicians, nurses and other medical staff as well as clinical managers will visit the respective partner hospital. The hospital administration in Longgang intends to send two groups with four people each every year.
 

The region Shenzhen

Today, the Shenzhen region is one of China’s leading providers of health care. The Hospital Longgang in Shenzhen was established in 1952 and has a catchment area of over three million people. Every year, 700 000 out-patients and 17 000 in-patients are treated in Longgang. The hospital employs approximately 1 400 members of staff, and its original capacity of 515 beds is being expanded to 1 000 beds. Specialist departments include the Departments of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Otorhinolaryngology and   Ophthalmology as well as rehabilitation and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
